Wood Badge is the most advanced leadership training available for adult volunteers in Scouting America, and the Lincoln Heritage Council proudly offers this transformative experience to leaders across all program areas. Whether you’re a Cub Scout den leader, Scouts BSA Scoutmaster, Venturing advisor, or district committee member, Wood Badge equips you with modern leadership tools, team-building strategies, and a deeper understanding of Scouting’s mission.
Participants in Wood Badge explore Scouting as a unified movement of age-appropriate, values-based programs. The course blends experiential learning with contemporary leadership theory, helping volunteers grow as mentors, communicators, and servant leaders. Many Scouters describe Wood Badge as a peak experience in their Scouting journey—one that revitalizes their commitment and enhances youth retention through stronger, more inspired leadership.
2026 Wood Badge Course – Lincoln Heritage Council
The Fall 2026 Wood Badge course hosted by Lincoln Heritage Council will be held over two immersive weekends:
- Weekend 1: September 11-13, 2026
Location: Camp Roy C Manchester, Pfeffer Scout Reservation - Weekend 2: October 10–11, 2026
Location: LDC, Harry S. Frazier Jr. Scout Reservation - Both weekends are required for completion

Requirements to Attend
To participate in Wood Badge, you must:
- Be a registered member of Scouting America
- Be current with S.A.F.E.Guarding Youth Training through October 11, 2026
- Have completed position-specific training for your Scouting role
- Submit a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A, B, and C)
- Complete the Pre-Course Orientation on https://my.scouting.org
- Be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment
- Commit to attending both weekends of the course
